The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

Opened in 1994 and continually celebrated as one of the best-themed thrill rides at any park. The pre-show is a Rod Serling-style Twilight Zone setup explaining the disappearance of the hotel's guests on a 1939 night. Guests board the service elevator, which moves through several haunted-corridor scenes before launching into a sequence of randomized drops — sometimes a single long fall, sometimes a series of bounces. The drop profile changes every cycle. The exterior of the building (visible from miles away) is part of the attraction; the queue through the abandoned lobby is the other.
