Tree of Life Awakenings

A series of short vignettes — fireflies, water flows, leopards, owls — projected directly onto the Tree of Life's carved bark. Each vignette runs about 90 seconds, with a longer set piece every fourth performance. The viewing area wraps around Discovery Island; both the Africa-side bridge and the Asia-side bridge have great sightlines. Awakenings runs only after dark, so during seasons when AK closes before sunset (often 6 or 7 PM) it doesn't happen at all. Quiet and meditative compared to the Disney fireworks shows; popular with photographers.
